October 15, 2020 | Fredericksburg Business News |

Fredericksburg now has two downtown parking garages.

The new 321-space Winchester Street garage opened this morning to paid parking. The garage entrance is on Winchester Street between William and Amelia streets. The structure is between Liberty Place and Winchester Place. Some of the spaces in the garage are set aside for the Liberty Place tenants.

The Vakos Companies, which is building Winchester Place and is working on a development on the former Free Lance-Star property, owns the garage. The City of Fredericksburg worked closely with both Vakos and Liberty Place developer Wack General Contractor to facilitate the garage project.

Initial rates for the garage are as follows. Vakos will evaluate the rate structure and could make changes, said Project Manager Collin Vakos. Monthly parking is also available. Payment is by credit card only. The deck will be managed by City Parking Inc.
