The Winchester Place project in downtown Fredericksburg is nearing completion.

Winchester Place, which is part of the Vakos Companies’ William Square development project, is along Amelia Street between Winchester and Douglas streets. Construction crews are expected to be finished with the building within the next couple of weeks.

Winchester Place includes 2,700 square feet of ground-level commercial space as well as 34 apartments (22 one-bedroom units, 8 two-bedroom units and four studios). Parking is available in the adjacent 321-space Winchester Parking Garage, which also serves the Liberty Place project and will serve the new buildings under construction on the former Free Lance-Star property. Monthly and short-term public parking is available in the Winchester deck.

Vakos is now leasing out the apartments and commercial space. People interested in the apartments can contact Kelly Dodson at [email protected] or 540-940-6499. People interested in the commercial space can contact Jonathan Gardner at [email protected] or 540-840-4901.

Vakos’ project on the adjacent former FLS property remains in full swing. Two buildings are currently under construction: Amelia House, which will include 50 apartment units and a 6,500-square-foot fitness center; and a 99-room hotel. Vakos plans to release additional information on the hotel, including naming and branding, at a later time.

Looking forward to this new downtown asset opening in the coming weeks, and to watching the rest of the progress play out on the adjacent block!
