U.S. Sen. Mark Warner continues to push for faster progress on plans for a large Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) outpatient clinic in the Fredericksburg area. The VA in January 2018 issued a solicitation for properties in the Fredericksburg area that could host an outpatient clinic between about 400,000 and 500,000 square feet. Fredericksburg City Council later that year approved a rezoning on the 90-acre Hylton tract to facilitate the project. The Hylton tract is directly on the east side of Interstate 95 between State Route 3 and Cowan Boulevard. City and Hylton officials believe the site would be an excellent location for the VA clinic. Here is the latest from the FLS on Warner’s efforts.
