Virginia named #1 by CNBC as America’s top state for business in 2019

by | Jul 17, 2019 | Virginia Business News

Virginia has claimed its fourth title in 2019 following wins in 2007, 2009 and 2011. CNBC scored Virginia 1,210 out of 2,500 points; boasting No. 1 in Workforce, No. 1 in Education (tied with Massachusetts) and No. 3 in Business Friendliness. We continue to corner the market across the U.S. with growth of 50,000 new jobs, including the fourth-highest concentration of science, technology, education and math (STEM). Our number of higher education institutions, educational spending, and class sizes position our students to consistently score strong. Virginia welcomes businesses of all sizes and has proven its creation of quality jobs with a diverse workforce and strong educational foundation.
