Two Royal Farms projects in the works in FXBG

November 11, 2020 | Fredericksburg Business News |

Two Royal Farms gas stations and stores could be coming to the State Route 3 corridor in Fredericksburg.

The company plans to soon start construction on a roughly 5,300-square-foot convenience store and gas pumps near Fredericksburg’s Interstate 95 interchange. A Gulf station at 2120 Plank Road and a BP station at 2216 Plank Road were torn down to make way for the new Royal Farms. The 1.41-acre combined site is at the front of the Greenbrier Shopping Center, next to Metro Diner and at the Altoona Drive intersection.

In addition, Royal Farms is applying for a special use permit and special exception permit from the City of Fredericksburg that would allow a 5,154-square-foot store and gas station at the intersection of the Blue & Gray Parkway, Alum Spring Road and Lafayette Boulevard. That would be part of the Fredericksburg Park project, which is under development now. A public hearing on that Royal Farms project and other matters is scheduled in front of the Fredericksburg Planning Commission on November 18.
