Tickets on sale for ‘A Downtown Affair To Go’

Tickets are on sale for the annual “A Downtown Affair” fundraising event put on by Fredericksburg VA Main Street Inc.

This year’s Downtown Affair event, which will start at 5 p.m. October 11, will be a little different than in years past, when diners gathered on a block of Caroline Street for a lavish open-air meal prepared by talented downtown chefs.

This year’s event will be called “A Downtown Affair To Go,” and will include a mobile party package featuring a five-course meal prepared by five different downtown restaurants:

• Appetizer – Capital Ale House
• Seafood – Vivify
• Pasta – Orofino Restaurant
• Meat – La Petite Auberge
• Dessert – Eileen’s Bakery & Cafe

Each pair of tickets, which are selling for $300 through September 5, will also receive wine or cocktails, coffee or tea, handmade plates by local potters, selfie photo props, a swag bag, napkins and a Bloomia tulip arrangement. Numerous add-on options featuring products from downtown businesses are also available. Ticket-holders will be able to pick up their to-go party packages between 3-4 p.m. October 11 at the Fredericksburg Baptist Church’s Caroline Street entrance.

The event has always sold out, so get your tickets now! It’s great to see organizations figuring out a way to safely carry out cherished annual events. That growing list also includes this year’s Riverfest and Candlelight Tour events, and more are to come!
