The Jewel Box celebrating 8o years in business

A Downtown Fredericksburg jewelry store will celebrate 80 years in business on Friday — just in time for the holiday kickoff weekend.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the achievement is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the The Jewel Box at 212 William Street. The business is planning sales to mark the occasion.

Arthur Land opened The Jewel Box in 1940. In 1963, the Land family sold the business to Crown Jewelers, and since then it has been run as a sister store. The store specializes in jewelry repair, ring sizing, watch batteries, engraving, watches, diamonds and general jewelry fixes.
