Spencer Devon remains open during work
Spencer Devon Brewing remains open amid construction activity that has shut down part of the 100 block of George Street in front of the downtown Fredericksburg brewpub.
Utility work has been under way at the intersection of George and Sophia streets since November 21, restricting traffic to one direction on the 100 block of George Street and eliminating street parking. The work is being done in preparation for the Chatham Bridge rehabilitation project, which is expected to begin this spring and last about 16 months.
However both the sidewalks along George Street, and Spencer Devon itself at 106 George Street, remain open during the work. The nearby public parking lot on Sophia Street at George Street is also not impacted by the work, which was expected to take up to 60 days to complete (which means work is expected to continue through most of January).
Spencer Devon has regular disc golf, trivia, karaoke, discussion and other events. Live music is planned January 11 and February 8.
