Fredericksburg City Council on Tuesday formally welcomed Cedric Rucker to his new position as the local representative to the influential Commonwealth Transportation Board. The 17-member board oversees the state’s transportation projects and initiatives, including the construction, maintenance and operation of roads, bridges, tunnels, airports, seaports, railways, buses, public transportation, mass transit and more. Rucker is associate vice president and dean of student life at the University of Mary Washington. Read more about the appointment. Congrats to Cedric!
