The future home of CRRL’s IdeaSpace

The Central Rappahannock Regional Library (CRRL) has moved a step closer to opening its new IdeaSpace along the Princess Anne Street corridor in Fredericksburg.

CRRL recently announced that it has received a grant from the Duff McDuff Green Jr. Fund of the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region for IdeaSpace, a new dedicated, library-staffed cornerstone of the Princess Anne Corridor Maker District.

IdeaSpace will be located at 1616 Princess Anne St., Suite B. Interior buildout work is currently under way. The facility is expected to open this winter.

IdeaSpace will include a digital media lab for audio/video recording, drawing tablets, and 3D printing and scanning services. Library staff will provide access and training at no charge to the community. It will be open 30-35 hours a week on evenings and weekends.

Fredericksburg’s Economic Development Authority (EDA) is also providing significant funding assistance with the facility.
