Bill Harris’ latest mural outside The Sunken Well Tavern in Fredericksburg.

Well-known local artist Bill Harris has unveiled his latest outdoor mural — this one at The Sunken Well Tavern at 720 Littlepage Street.

The mural, which is in the window to the left of the main entrance, depicts a woman hugging a cheeseburger with lettuce and tomatoes, big (sliced) kosher pickles and french-fried potatoes — with a cold draft beer and the words “Eat Well. Drink Well. Live Well” behind her.

Harris said Sunken Well co-owner Steve Cameli asked him if he could paint a mural over the front window in part to attract attention to the building so people know they are open for business. Harris said the idea for the mural just popped into his head, and he thought it would make a fun image. He said another well-known local artist — Gabriel Pons — is working on a piece at home with his son to cover another window at the restaurant.

Go check it out, and grab some pre-ordered food while you are at it!
