MWHC planning virtual town hall on COVID-19

MWHC Town HallMary Washington Healthcare (MWHC), which operates Fredericksburg’s Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital, is convening a panel of experts to host a virtual community town hall Wednesday evening about the COVID-19 virus.

The forum, “COVID-19 Update in the Fredericksburg Region,” will address the serious public health issue of the coronavirus. As the nation is in an unprecedented pandemic, MWHC believes it has responsibility to provide information to our community. The virtual town hall, open and free to the public, will take place live on MWHC’s Facebook page at 7 p.m. Wednesday. A recording of the event will be available on MWHC’s YouTube channel and website.

The panel will feature the following experts. They will share pertinent information, clinical perspectives and community resources, and take questions live from the audience.

  • Dr. Michael McDermott, MWHC President and CEO
  • Dr. Christopher Newman, MWHC Chief Operations Officer and Chief Medical Officer
  • Dr. Donald Stern, Interim Rappahannock Area Health District Director and former acting state Health Commissioner
