The Bay Consortium Workforce Board has been awarded an $87,314 grant from Virginia to assist small businesses (fewer than 250 people at a site) with certain costs related to the COVID-19 crisis.
Grant funds can be used to pay for cleaning services and supplies so companies can stay open, and to purchase items that can assist employees in teleworking. The source of funding is the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration’s Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Title I. Businesses receiving grant funding must first incur the cost and present proof of payment to get reimbursed.
