InFirst FCU to open Central Park branch

An Alexandria-based federal credit union in April purchased a former bank branch in Fredericksburg’s Central Park shopping center and plans to open there this summer.

InFirst Federal Credit Union plans to open a branch with a drive-up ATM sometime around August 1 at the former BB&T location at 1151 Carl D. Silver Parkway. The member-owned credit union bought the 2,728-square-foot building last month for $1,575,000 from Mach II MCB Silver Portfolio, according to Fredericksburg land records. A thorough renovation to the Central Park property is now under way both inside and out.

Former BB&T branchInFirst FCU was chartered in 1935 and has more than 11,000 members and assets of approximately $170 million. It has branch locations and ATMs in King George County and in the Washington area.
