Holiday season in full swing downtown
The annual Holiday Open House event held this past weekend marked the official start to the season. There are now 59 downtown businesses and organizations displaying riddles through the annual Window Wonderland contest, and a new Instagram contest to find a holiday gnome — “FxbgFRED” — is now in full swing.
Numerous holiday-oriented events will be held downtown in the coming weeks, including the Children’s Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday afternoon in Hurkamp Park and the annual Christmas Parade on Dec. 7. Click here for more detail on those events and more.
And of course the main event is the wonderful shopping opportunities at our downtown businesses, many of which have put up festive holiday decor. One newcomer this year is the Fredericksburg Nationals team store at 601 Caroline St. (first floor of the Executive Plaza), which will be open Saturdays during the holiday season from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and starting Dec. 1 on Sundays also from 11-4.
So come on down to downtown Fredericksburg and enjoy the holiday festivities!
