Great news for all the adrenaline junkies out there!

Fredericksburg’s Fun Land amusement park is working with the City of Fredericksburg to add a new Drop Tower attraction to the park. City Council voted 5-2 this past week to allow heights of outdoor recreation structures up to 135 feet by special use permit. This allows Fun Land to apply for the special use permit for their proposed 130-foot Drop Tower.

According to Clint Novak, Fun Land’s general manager, once the special use permit and all other necessary permits were obtained, the Drop Tower would take 10 months to put in place. Novak’s projection for the Drop Tower installation date is sometime in 2023.

Fun Land is famous for Virginia’s first multi-level go-kart track, which was opened in 2019, as well as laser-tag, bumper cars, miniature golf, an enormous arcade, and more. The planned Drop Tower will be an exciting addition to one of the city’s most beloved entertainment spaces.
