by | Oct 13, 2021 | All Articles

A photo of Fredericksburg’s former Greyhound Bus Depot is on the cover of the most-recent edition of A Guidebook to Virginia’s African American Historical Markers.”

The bus depot, which was formerly in the 600 block of Princess Anne Street across from the current site of the U.S. Post Office, was the first stop on the 1961 Freedom Rides. A historical marker was recently installed on the site.

Fredericksburg’s new historical marker is featured on Page 7 of the guidebook, which is published by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources.
