Fredericksburg rolls out ‘Love Local’ campaign
Fredericksburg businesses are the heart and soul of our community. They sponsor our sports teams. They provide jobs for our residents. They help us celebrate, grieve, laugh and cry. They feed and clothe us. They produce the tax revenue that lets us educate our children, provide clean water, pave our streets, make our City safe, build and maintain our parks, provide assistance to those most in need, and plan for our future.
And now they need our help. A new website — fxbglovelocal.com — will help you provide that help.
Many Fredericksburg businesses have been forced to close or greatly change their practices in the wake of restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 viral outbreak. Many of our businesses are doing what they can to stay afloat during these unprecedented times while staying within the law.
Fxbglovelocal.com provides people with a comprehensive list of Fredericksburg restaurants, retailers and more that remain open amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Many of them are offering takeout and delivery services, and have shifted their business models to become mostly online-focused. We will be adding businesses regularly to the list as we learn about more.
The website also includes a section called “Showing the Love to FXBG” on which we will post heart-warming stories of Fredericksburg residents doing what they can to help businesses weather this storm (which will pass!).
Send these stories, business listings and more to Danelle Rose, Fredericksburg’s Visitor Center Manager and the primary person behind this new website, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Let’s support our businesses, Fredericksburg. They need us!
