This year’s Memorial Day ceremony in the City of Fredericksburg will be virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Click here for the Facebook page. Here is a schedule:
- Friday, May 22: Virtual Memorial Gallery will go live on the Facebook event page and YouTube. Please send photos of people you will be remembering to Visitor Center Manager Danelle Rose at darose@fredericksburgva.gov with the email subject line “Virtual Memorial Gallery.” Include the individual’s name, branch of service and time served.
- Saturday, May 23: We will post a video about the National Cemetery Luminaria that would usually take place on the Saturday before Memorial Day. This annual event is cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
- Monday, May 25: Annual Memorial Day Ceremony video will be posted on the Facebook event page, YouTube and on the city’s public access channels all day. Public broadcast channels are Cox channel 84 and Verizon channel 42. The Virtual Memorial Gallery and Luminaria video will be on the public broadcast channels on Monday as well.
