Eagle Express bus service starting Aug. 27

Fredericksburg Regional Transit (FRED) will begin its new Eagle Express bus service on Friday, August 27th.

This route travels between the University of Mary Washington, Downtown Fredericksburg, Central Park and the Spotsylvania Towne Centre. The Eagle Express operates 30-minute frequency Friday through Sunday when UMW is in session. This is the first time Fredericksburg Regional Transit has offered half-hour frequency, an exciting milestone for improving customers’ experience.

The Eagle Express route is open to the public. UMW prepays for service, therefore UMW students, faculty and staff ride free with a valid University ID. Standard Fare is $1.25 (per boarding), reduced fare is 60 cents (ID required) and children under 3 ride free. Hours of operations for the route are:

  • Friday: 4 p.m.-10:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
