Downtown restaurant Kybecca to close March 16

The owners of Kybecca, a staple of the downtown Fredericksburg dining scene for 15 years, have decided to close the restaurant at 402 William St.

The Thomas family, which owns Kybecca, announced this week that it will be closing March 16. The announcement stated that the restaurant remains viable and profitable, and that 2019 was its best year to date. The announcement said the owners would like to now pursue other projects.

“Our thought was to go out on a high note,” the announcement reads. “We’re immensely proud of what we’ve built and sustained. 15 years is quite a run.”

Kybecca will be open as normal through March 16. The owners then plan to sell all the fixtures, ventilation hood and more. Pickup will be March 17-31. People who still have gift cards need to use them by March 16.

The owners of the building — a prominent location at the intersection of Charles and William streets — are now seeking a new tenant for the beautiful 3,189-square-foot space, which can seat up to 150 people and includes an outdoor cafe area.
