Downtown garage starting to take shape

by | Apr 22, 2020 | All Articles

A 322-space parking garage being built in the block enclosed by Douglas, William, Winchester and Amelia streets in downtown Fredericksburg is starting to take shape.

A huge crane has been lifting the garage’s pre-assembled floors and walls into place. Work will continue for the next several weeks. The garage will support the Liberty Place and William Square projects, which are being developed by Wack General Contractor and the Vakos Companies, respectively. The projects are a redevelopment of the former Free Lance-Star properties.

Go check out the site if you have a chance (while practicing social distancing)! It’s fun to watch all the huge pieces getting put into place.
