The City of Fredericksburg will play host to a public information session on data centers August 12.
Data centers have become a significant growth sector throughout the U.S. and particularly Northern Virginia as cloud computing gets increasingly common. The Fredericksburg region has identified data centers as an economic development opportunity and has been taking steps to market itself to the industry through competitive tax rates and business-friendly policies.
The City of Fredericksburg will host the August 12 session to provide information about data centers and answer the public’s questions about the industry. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. August 12 at Germanna Community College’s FredCAT facility at 1325 Central Park Blvd.
The featured speaker at the meeting will be Josh Levi, former vice president for policy of the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) and president of Center Strategies LLC. The NVTC is the membership and trade association for the technology community in Northern Virginia.
