Construction is under way on the Vakos Companies’ Winchester Place project in downtown Fredericksburg.

Winchester Place is bordered by Winchester, Amelia and Douglas streets as well as the new garage on the block that also includes the Liberty Place building. Winchester Place will be the third and final building on that block.

Winchester Place will be a mixed-use, four-story brick building of 43,224 square feet. That will include 34 apartments, and 3,199 square feet of first-floor commercial space at the corner of Amelia and Winchester streets that is available for lease. Interested parties can contact Project Manager Collin Vakos at 540-898-3242 extension 1018 or [email protected]. Winchester Place is expected to be completed in late 2021.

Vakos Companies is also working on plans for a development on the block bordered by Washington Avenue as well as William, Douglas and Amelia streets. The company has been removing the former Free Lance-Star headquarters for that project.
