If you can believe it, Fredericksburg’s downtown parking garage has been open since 2005!
The garage at the corner of Wolfe and Sophia streets is undergoing an extensive amount of maintenance in an effort to continue to provide a safe parking structure and ensure its long-term viability.
The City’s contractor is currently replacing the caulking membrane. Next steps with the repair will be work on concrete, shutters, window guards, lintels, and exterior handrails. All work is expected to be completed by the end of January.
In order to minimize any future parking shortages, there will be no special-event reserved spaces until the maintenance work is complete.
The City would like to thank citizens, employers and tourists for their patience during this project.
