The City of Fredericksburg is now accepting bids from construction companies interested in building Riverfront Park downtown. Sealed bids for the project will be accepted until 2 p.m. September 23. The Riverfront Park project includes construction of a municipal park with playground apparatus, a water-play feature, a stage for concerts and other events, and seating areas for passive relaxation. The project site is rectangular and is approximately four acres in size. It’s located between Sophia Street and the Rappahannock River, and Wolfe and Hanover streets.
