Average employment in Fredericksburg rose by 4.7 percent in the third quarter of 2017, according to recently released Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) data.
The City of Fredericksburg picked up 1,124 jobs during the third quarter compared with that three-month period in 2016. There were an average of 25,071 jobs in the City in the third quarter, the highest quarterly tally in nearly five years.
The data are from the VEC’s Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages.
Fredericksburg’s unemployment rate in December was 4 percent, according to the VEC.
