FXBG Christmas Parade returning downtown Saturday

The annual Fredericksburg Christmas Parade will return to the downtown streets Saturday.

The free parade will occur on Saturday, December 4 starting at 5:30 p.m. Several streets in downtown Fredericksburg will close for the event, and parking will be restricted. Here is the timeline for Saturday:

  • 2 p.m.: Parking restrictions begin at VRE Lot at Sophia Street and Frederick Street; towing enforced
  • 2 p.m.: Parking restrictions begin on the following streets; towing enforced where signage posted:
    • 300-1000 blocks of Caroline Street
    • 100-200 blocks of Amelia Street
    • 500-1200 blocks of Princess Anne Street
    • 100-300 blocks of George Street and William Street
    • 100-400 blocks of Wolfe Street, Charlotte Street and Hanover Street
    • 800 block of Charles Street
  • 3:30 p.m.: Streets listed above will be closed to through-traffic
  • 5:30 p.m.: Parade begins
  • 9 p.m.: Streets reopen after parade cleanup
