In a few weeks, visitors and residents should be able to safely and easily walk, bike and run between Downtown Fredericksburg and Stafford County attractions including Belmont, Chatham and Pratt Park.
The Chatham Bridge pedestrian connection is expected to fully open by early April, weather-permitting. Construction crews are now putting the final touches on the project.
It’s already possible to walk across the Chatham Bridge from downtown Fredericksburg on a 10-foot path along the side, but the connection to the trail system in Stafford County isn’t yet open. That should change by early April, offering up another great outdoor activity in Fredericksburg and Stafford.
Looking forward to it!
