Chamber holds workforce development event at Expo

Eighth-graders from Fredericksburg-area schools spent two hours at the Fredericksburg Expo Center on Wednesday morning visiting with 83 businesses as part of a large workforce development event organized by the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the school systems.

The session was part of the Chamber’s “Discover Your Future” event, which highlighted local career opportunities and gave students the ability to interact with and learn more about future employers. It also included a community job fair.

On Thursday at the Expo Center, the Chamber planned “Workforce Connect,” an opportunity for local employers to develop the workforce of the future by conducting mock interviews with area high school seniors.
