Valuable commercial land in Fredericksburg, VA to be sold at auction
Rare opportunity available for 224 acres in Celebrate Virginia South

Fredericksburg, VA — A May 31 auction is scheduled for about 224 acres of commercially zoned land in a prime location in the City of Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Twenty parcels within the Celebrate Virginia South development will be auctioned starting at 1:00 p.m. on May 31 in Fredericksburg City Hall at 715 Princess Anne Street; Fredericksburg, VA 22401. The auction will be held in the City Council chambers, the entrance to which is off Hanover Street next to J. Brian’s Tap Room.

The properties are being sold as outlined by Virginia law to satisfy delinquent Fredericksburg taxes and Community Development Authority (CDA) special tax assessments. The Richmond-area law firm of Taxing Authority Consulting Services, PC (TACS) is representing the City of Fredericksburg and coordinating the auction.

The 20 parcels range in size from a quarter-acre to 55 acres. Properties will be sold in the order listed on the City’s advertisement.  Contiguous parcels may be offered for sale individually and as a group at the auction. More information about the properties and the auction are available at Fredericksburg.taxva.com. The auction will be open to the public, and any bidders complying with the terms of sale can participate.

Celebrate Virginia South is off Fall Hill Avenue and Carl D. Silver Parkway, a location right in the middle of one of Virginia’s fastest-growing regions. The development is minutes from Interstate 95 and downtown Fredericksburg, and adjacent to the Central Park power center. Critical infrastructure such as roads, sidewalks and utilities are already in place. The development already includes the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center, a Wegmans grocery store, three hotels, several financial institutions, and hundreds of residential units with more under construction. Additional projects are in the works.

“It is extremely unusual that such prime commercial property would be available in a judicial tax sale, and I look forward to collecting the amounts past due for the City and returning these properties to the active tax rolls,” said Fredericksburg Treasurer Brenda Wood.
